How to get around?

Car / quad :

Renting a car is definitely a good choice to visit. You will find renters everywhere in Las Terrenas, a rental car will cost about 40-50 US$/day, same price for a quad but with a feeling of freedom and vacation in addition.


Moto councho :

 MotoConchos (moto taxis) are the cheapest and most convenient way to travel short distances in Las Terrenas. The price is usually between US$2 to US$4 depending to the distance and day or night. To recognize them search a yellow jacket.


Bus :

The bus station is located at the Asotrapusa terminal at the top of the city:


SANTO DOMINGO 2h - 500 RD $
Las Terrenas – Santo Domingo Departure: 05:00, 07:00, 09:05, 11:00, 14:10, 15:30. 

Santo Domingo – Las Terrenas Departure: 08:30, 09:30, 11:00, 13:40, 15:00, 18:00.


PUERTO PLATA 4h - 400 RD $
Las Terrenas – Puerto Plata (Sosua / Cabarete): 06h30 

Puerto Plata (Sosua / Cabarete) – Las Terrenas: 1:00 pm


SANTIAGO 3h - $350 RD
Las Terrenas – Santiago: 06h15 | 08h15 | 00h45

Guagua :

To only go in the peninsula of Samana you have the guaguas. Not very comfortable but very useful. The station of  Las Terrenas is located in the main street, towards the cemetery. They will take you to El Limon, Samaná or Las Galeras.
